Our Dream Playhouse
THE PLAYHOUSE 😍😭β™₯️

Do you remember my post looking for free lumbar this spring?! Well here it is πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΌ. My best friend had just taken down their old fence and they gave us a few panels. The wood was in super rough shape as you can see and rotting in lots of places. SCROLL + SEE WHERE WE STARTED. 😬 Another sweet friend of Derrick's gave us a lead for some industrial pallets. The wood from there was amazing but the work it took to rip them apart - Derrick gets all the credit for that. Each piece was pulled. We (mostly derrick and a tiny bit dean and I) had to rip SO MANY nails from each piece. We then bought a wood planer (not necessary) to get like new wood for the floor. Thank goodness because otherwise I would've been sanding for hours. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

I started this project alone. I just dove in with an end vision but no step by step plan. Its something I've always wanted to do but could never justify the time when I was running my brick and mortar boutique the last 8 years! This means so much to me to be able to pour into my kids this way. Derrick must have been extremely impressed by the structure I was creating to want to jump on board with me. 🀣 Also I'm pretty sure our neighbors must have thought I was building something pretty rough + rickety because the beginning stages were NOT pretty. I always had my vision thought and I knew it would come together. I loved every moment of creating this with Derrick. The playhouse ended up crushing my visions...I am beyond in love! So far it has been a theater, cafe, lego building head quarters, snack house - you name it. β™₯️ we did buy panels for the roof as well as the paint and lights!

I can't wait for years of making memories!!! I love that each of us had a hand creating it and that the kids got to see the process. β™₯️
